Build Log

K132 - Tempest #3

Three standard Tempests built in a batch to go along with K126, forming a 4-person team. This summer, my Tempest designing went well, and I'm fairly happy with the standard and ultralight versions of the kite. I set a goal for myself to build a team set if those to kites this winter to enjoy while I work on other variations of the kite.

Upper spreader reinforcement

After building these, I found that the upper spreader reinforcement patch is too low, I've since adjusted my templates to fix this.

Tail fitting

I'm trying a new style of tail stopper here that is more of a cap that is glued onto the ferrule. Instead of glueing the ferrule into the spine spare, I just let the ferrule with the cap and the weight press against the end of the spine, held in place by the tail velcro. I think this will mitigate issues with that ferrule slipping due to failed glue.
