K97 - Shiznit #9
A shiznit made to order.
Fittings
On this sail, I did some of the fittings in red and the rest in black to align with he color layout of the sail. I think this is a nice little detail and it worked out well.
Nose
I tried a slightly different approach on the nylon edging on the nose, where I sewed on a piece that was large enough hat it was easy to sew, then used appliqué scissors to cut out the excess. I think this resulted in a really tight seem and it looks great.
Center alignment
I had a bit of trouble with the alignment of the sail because I initially glued the stopper for the cross-fitting out of place by 1mm or so. This was enough of a difference that after shaking the kite, the cross fitting wouldn’t stay centered in the cutout. So I had to pull off the stopper, print a new one, and try again. Fortunately, the stopper only takes about 3 minutes to print.
