Quad Line End Cap
Description
This is an endcap for the Essentials and Breeze quad line kites. It features a ridge so a snagless bridle can be attached without an overhand loop.
There are 3 styles of endcap bundled together here:
Basic Encap
The basic endcap is a simple solid endcap with a hole in the end.
Open Endcap
On the open endcap, there is an opening between the hole for the bungee, and the hole for the spar. This allows the ends of the bungee to be passed into the cap and tied together. This is useful for wing tips as it allows the bungee knots to be hidden inside the endcap. I got the idea for this approach from gfakite.github.io.
Using the caps in this way does put more stress on the walls of the bungee hole, which is why my caps are thicker on the end.
Open Endcap with Traction
This has the same internal opening as the Open Endcap, but it also has a separate piece on the end of the cap. Print the traction piece in a softer material, like 95A TPU. The tip can be attached to the rest of the cap with super glue. When used on wingtips, this soft tip provides traction on hard, smooth floors.
