K128 - Void #5
A custom Void, this one made as a batch of including K128, K129 and K130. One is a custom order. The other two are replacing my personal Voids that were purchased from my bag; one in my usual colors, and one whose colors were chosen by my wife.
The batch went fairly well. I did have some trouble with getting a new blueprint printed from Staples though. Even though I un-checked the "scale to fit" checkbox, the print was scaled and not accurate. I've since gotten a refund, but I had to use an older blueprint, and I may start ordering from Office Depot instead so I can place the order in person.
Wingtip tension
In previous iterations of Void, I was experimenting with tying up the tensioning along the seam of the leading edge. I don't think this really did much to help anything, so I abandoned that and just went with the usual vinyl endcap.
Careful twisting fittings onto pultruded carbon
When installing the lower leading edge on one of them, I was twisting on a tight fitting. I twisted a little too hard and broke the pultruded carbon. Wrapped carbon seems to handle twisting stress reasonably so, but pultruded carbon not so much. I discarded that spar and replaced it, then was more cerful with the twisting when moving fittings along the spar.
