K134 - Essentials XV #5
An Essentials XV made to complement my personal sails to slowly fill out a team set. This kite was worked on while filming tutorials with Fortuna Found.
New T-Fitting
The main thing that stands out on this kite is the new T-Fitting. I've made a new model that I am testing out that offsets the vertical spar away from the leading edge slightly. Most quad kites with T-fittings are more likely to break their leading edge during a hard inverted landing. I think this is because of the momentum of the vertical spar driving directly into the leading edge spar, causing it to snap. The new fitting offsets the vertical spar so the spar's momentum will result in squishing and rotating the fitting rather than snapping the leading edge. I've printed a few of these and will be testing it out in the coming year.
