K88 - Shiznit #5
I sold one of my shiznits out of my bag when I was at Lincoln City, OR in June, so I needed a new backup Shiznit. I have not been able to get any red icarex, so I decided to make one in all-white.
Nose
When cutting out the piece for the nose, I accidentally cut into the already sewn nylon leading edge. I ended up patching that with a new layer of nylon. So the nose isn’t as clean as usual, but I think it came out ok.
Bridle
I’ve run out of the Laser Pro Gold bridle line core that I’ve been using for the bridle. I have some new bridle line of similar weight, but the core is not braided, so I ended up leaving the sleeving on for the in-haul part where I used that new line. I might consider getting some bare spectra for these bridles for the future to reduce weight rather than using a sleeved bridle line.
Fittings
Fittings are all 3d printed as usual. I liked the red with the white to give it a Watty-style accent. The upper spreader fittings seemed a bit tight, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
