K78 - Shiznit #4

While attending the kite festival at South Padre Island, I ended up parting with Shiznit #1, and I just had a prototype Shiznit in my bag. So, I built two new Shiznits for myself. I built K77 and K78 at the same time, so they are pretty much identical.

Here are some interesting bits:

Swivel cross fitting

Since I built the last Shiznit, I came up with a swiveling cross fitting design which I like much better than my sliding donut design I was using before. I retrofitted Shitnit #1 with the fitting, and was quite happy with it. These two shiznits are built with that fitting in mind.

The cool thing about this fitting is that it locks the lower spreader in position when assembled, but when the lower spreader is swiveled 90 degrees for takedown, it can slide through the fitting resulting in a shorter package.

Tidy wingtips

As I did on the last couple shiznits, I shrink-wrapped the wingtip which I think makes the tips super clean.

The usual

As usual, all the parts are 3d printed, and these are otherwise standard Shiznits.
