K50 - Deal With It #1
For my 50th kite, I wanted to do something fun. Deal With It is an homage to the common internet meme, representing the pixelated sunglasses frequently used in the meme. This was a project completed during the Covid-19 (coronavirus) epidemic while sheltering at home.
This is my first departure from the typical quad-line shape. This kite has a total of 6 vertical rods to support the shape. The leading edge is a typical Rev 1.5 size, but the vertical spars are cut down as needed.
I used dacron line to tension the exterior points so it will keep its shape in the wind. I also added a dacron layer for reinforcement along the bottom edge since it may come in contact with the ground more than usual.
The bridle is based on a traditional Rev bridle, modified to adapt to this unconventional size and shape.
